The Smithy Tea Room
The Smithy specialises in home cooked food and using fresh local produce. Our home baking includes a variety of homemade cakes, tray bakes with fruit, plain and cheese scones made fresh daily and homemade soups with a difference (i.e., roasted red pepper with sweet potato, smoked haddock froth etc).
For people who would like a light lunch, then there are a selection of light snacks ranging from sandwiches, toasties, jacket potatoes, and paninis all with a variety of fillings, but if you would like a more substantial meal, then we have full salads made with local pates, our own home cooked meats (ham in a mustard and honey marmalade glaze or silverside of Scottish beef) omelettes, a Scottish cheese selection platter, and locally produced smoked salmon are always available.
We also offer a variety of vegetarian snacks and meals plus some home cooked daily specials to satisfy the hungry traveller, possibly followed by home cooked apple pie and Galloway ice cream.
We also provide a wide choice of teas and Italian espresso coffee (or you could treat yourself to the rather delicious Italian hot chocolate deluxe, a meal in itself!), together with a range of soft drinks, wines and beers (alcohol can only be served with food).
