Louise McKie | An Lochan
This hotel boasts two fine dinning areas; one where you can sink into big sofas and gaze out over the Kyles; the other a little fancier, where you can dress up and sit on a terrace either admiring the view or the person on the other side of the table!

Dining at An Lochan
The secret of a meal to remember? For us at An Lochan, it's all about fresh local ingredients. Which is why you’ll often see Shonna and Mary, still in their dripping wet-suits, delivering scallops to the kitchen; Arthur setting out in his boat in pursuit of plump langoustines; or Winston heading into the hills, on the trail of venison?
But, of course, even the very finest ingredients need to be prepared and cooked with skillful precision. So it's lucky that our Head Chef Louise McKie, is on hand in the kitchen, knives poised, skillets a-sizzle, ready to create a seemingly endless succession of absurdly delicious dishes for to you enjoy, in either of our two elegant dining areas.
Cooking stupendously delicious food is very much a family affair at An Lochan. Louise McKie loves experimenting with dishes and giving them a modern twist. She is passionate about the depth of flavour in her sauces, working on them until the taste is just right. She has helped in achieving the 2 rosettes at Tighnabruaich. Passionate about food, often scoures farmers markets on her days off. Associate member of the Master chefs of Great Britain. Finalist best Scottish rural chef 2006.
We may be on the small side, but we can still offer a choice of two really attractive dining areas, depending on your mood. The Deck, with wooden floors, deep sofas and a roaring fire. From your candle-lit table, the stunning views over the Kyles may almost be enough to distract you from your food. Almost, but not quite. The Crustacean is a little ritzier. Small and intimate, it's the place to eat when you feel like dressing up a bit. A gorgeous lounge leads onto an enclosed terrace with romantic sea views from every table.
