Food and drink certainly take centre stage in Glasgow each summer when the annual Gourmet Glasgow Festival takes place in August.

The event which is organised by the Glasgow Restaurateurs’ Association (GLA) features special events and dining offers.

Around the city there will be a number of gourmet events ranging from a week long seafood festival at An Lochan in the west end to a dinner at the Sisters Restaurant, Jordan Hill where the food will be paired with whisky .

One of the highlights of Gourmet Glasgow will be the food critics challenge evening where well known restaurant critics like Tam Cowan will be your Maitre D' for the night and all proceeds will go to charity.

There are also demonstrations from chefs from some of Glasgow's favourite restaurants.

The Glasgow Restaurateurs’ Association has grown over the last few years from a handful of establishments to more than 70 members to date. All must fulfil certain standards to be eligible.

The Association has uniquely allowed a group of widely diverse professionals to exchange ideas with the common aim to promote the excellence of the Glasgow restaurant scene.
