Speyside Whisky Festival 2012

The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival on 2-8 May is a must for lovers of ‘the water of life’ with seven days of exciting events celebrating Scotland’s renowned dram. Speyside is home to more than half of Scotland’s malt whisky distilleries and the world’s only Malt Whisky Trail making it the perfect place for the biggest whisky event on the summer food and drink calendar.

The festival’s programme includes over 200 exciting events showcasing the region’s culture, heritage and, of course, the malts from learning how to pair your favourite dish with the perfect dram and enjoying tutored tasting and nosing sessions to really get the most out of the whisky.

Visit distilleries that are not usually open to the public for exclusive behind-the-scenes tours and why not treat yourself to an ‘ultimate’ tour of one of the distilleries led by a distillery manager and including fantastic, bespoke tasting sessions?

More festival highlights include combining a round of golf with a nip at Grantown on Spey Golf Club, a wildlife and whisky walk, the opportunity to fill your very own cask and a chance to go on the infamous Seven Stills Bus Tour that visits all of Dufftown's distilleries with a dram at each and everyone - not for the faint-hearted! You will also have the chance to learn more about whisky from the experts at the Spirit of Speyside Whisky School.
