Celebrate Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight

Get a perfect taste of Scotland in the Year of Food and Drink. Celebrate the rich natural larder at farmers’ markets, Michelin-starred restaurants, cafes and bars or try out your own culinary skills with fresh local produce.
Events and festivals showcase all that is good about regional Scottish delights from sumptuous Argyll seafood to Aberdeen Angus Beef and distinctive whiskies around the country.
Don’t miss Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight, one of the biggest events in the calendar between the 4 - 19 September. Sample seasonal flavours and learn about culture and tradition at the same time!
Here is a selection of events taking place throughout the two weeks at Scottish Food Fortnight:
1 - 5 September - Scottish Food Marquee at Largs Viking Festival
Scottish Food and Craft marquee based on local farmers' market producers at the the Largs Viking Festival, one of the highlights of the event calendar at this popular seaside town. All welcome for a great day out between 9 - 6pm, Largs.
3 - 5 September - Dundee Flower & Food Festival
This event includes the Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight launch. The packed weekend programme will showcase free cookery and gardening demonstrations, children's activities, a craft fair, the chance to buy an amazing range of plants and quality food products and much more. The 2010 Festival plays host to the National Vegetable Society's Championships, and helps the Society celebrate its 50th anniversary. TV celebrity duo, The Hairy Bikers, will also drop in. The two cooks, who have become known to millions of television viewers as they combine their love of motorcycling with down-to-earth cookery programmes, will be spending two days cooking and mingling with visitors at the Festival.
3 - 12 September - Blas Festival
More than 80 events will take place across the Highlands region that include music, food, walks and exhibitions.
4 - 5 September - Huntly Hairst Food Festival
A feast of fun awaits all the family. Activities include everything from Can't Cook Won't Cook, a Chocolate Workshop, World Stovie Championship, Butchery Pig Demonstration, Sheep Dog Trials, a Tin Hut Supper and much, much more. All welcome. Not to be missed!
4 -19 September - Linlithgow Scottish Food Fortnight, Across Linlithgow
A mouth-watering range of events featuring fantastic local produce hosted by local businesses, community groups and schools, working together to promote local food. Events include a vegetarian cookery demonstration and whisky, venison and bread tasting events as well as wild food foraging and edible seed saving talks.
4 -19 Sept, House of Bruar - Food Fortnight celebrations, By Blair Atholl, Perthshire
House of Bruar will offer a series of tastings and promotions across the fortnight.
6 - 19 September - The Moray Food Festival
Events throughout the Fortnight offering a diverse programme of demonstrations, exhibitions, talks and competitions promoting local, seasonal produce.
6 - 17 September - The Workshop UK “Scottish Day”
Dedicated Scottish menu one day per week attracting 6000 visitors.
11 September - Whisky Live, The Thistle Ballroom Glasgow
Events include Masterclass rooms, a whisky VIP room, the whisky antiques roadshow and the whisky collectors’ corner.
10 - 12 September - eatBute, Mount Stuart House, Mount Stuart, Isle of Bute
eatBute is a celebration of fresh, seasonal and locally produced food. Now an annual event in the island's calendar, it showcases the finest produce from Bute and the surrounding areas of Argyll, as well as showing the importance of eating food that is good, clean and fair - in line with the values of 'Slow Food'.
12 -18 September - East Renfrewshire Food Festival
A feast of flamboyant food experts including TV celebrity and restaurant reviewer Tam Cowan, top Scottish chef John Quigley and the Woman Who Ate Scotland Nell Nelson, will appear on the menu when East Renfrewshire hosts its first ever food festival this autumn.
Join cooking workshops, tasting sessions and other food events run by local retailers and restaurants with local produce on offer to tantalise the palate.
16 - 18 September - Three Lochs Book and Arts Festival, Shores of Loch Sunart, Argyll, times vary
An inspiring mini-festival on the shores of beautiful Loch Sunart. The programme will include author's talks, children's events, film and workshops, all accompanied by some great local food and drink. All welcome.
17 September - Steak Celebration Evening, Deeside Activity Park, Aboyne
A steak lovers paradise! See the meat in its uncut form, choose your cut and size, then watch it being prepared. From 6.30pm.
18 September - Waterfront Oban
A five course seasonal set menu sourced locally and cooked by the executive chef.
18 September - ScotFest, Cochrane Park, Alva, from 11am until 4.30pm 
A one day festival which highlights the amazing talent based in Scotland in Food & Drink, Craft, Design and Live Music.
Exhibitors are hand-picked to ensure there is a broad mix of specialties for you to enjoy on the day. There will be up to 100 exhibitors – free sampling in the food hall and meet the designers in the craft tent.
Live cooking demonstrations throughout the day.

18 -19 Sept, Loch Lomond Food & Drink Festival, Loch Lomond Shores, Balloch
Two days of celebrating the wonders of food and drink in the most spectacular setting. Ben Lomond will be visible in the background and the festival is set on the edge of Loch Lomond.
Farmers' Markets across the country also support Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight by selling regional flavours.
