EatScotland Awards | Scotland's Premier Eating Out Venues Named

Six of Scotland’s finest eating places, located throughout Scotland, have been awarded gold, gourmet status by EatScotland.

Abstract EdinburghEdinburgh restaurants, Abstract and Number One at the Balmoral, along with Inverlochy Castle near Fort William, Rocpool Reserve and Abstract in Inverness and Ullinish Country Lodge on the Isle of Skye, have all been awarded a Gold Award by VisitScotland’s national food quality scheme.

They join Restaurant Martin WishartThe Three Chimneys and Andrew Fairlie at the Gleneagles Hotel as some of the top places to eat out in Scotland recognised by VisitScotland’s EatScotland awards.

Thirteen new silver awards have also been awarded, bringing the total number of silver awards to 63 establishments throughout the country. This demonstrates a high number of businesses providing an excellent and outstanding food experience.

Dining at Inverlochy CastleThe EatScotland Silver & Gold Awards aim to identify Scotland’s most innovative and quality driven establishments, providing them with the recognition they deserve.

The awards recognise excellence across the board from the local tea room or an internationally recognised restaurant.

Tourism Minister Jim Mather said: “Scottish producers, food processors, and our drinks industry deliver some of the finest produce in the world.

"From our meat, fresh seafood, fruit and world leading whisky, it is no wonder that our restaurants are the envy of many great chefs across the globe."

He added: “These awards recognise the best of the best and I am delighted to see so many great restaurants being rewarded for their excellence. People who visit these establishments are sure to have a fantastic experience. I am certain they will come back to Scotland for a second helping."
