Sun, 25 Mar 2012
Award-winning Edinburgh-based chef Mark Greenaway is to appear on the new series of the Great British Menu, and will be the only Scottish based chef this year who will be competing on the popular television show.
Since opening his first signature restaurant, Restaurant Mark Greenaway in Edinburgh in February 2011, Mark has enjoyed great success and his restaurant was awarded the coveted three AA rosettes - the only Scottish restaurant to be awarded the prestigious accolade this year.
Using only the best local and seasonal produce, Mark is famed for his modern style of cooking with a traditional twist. This year will see him battle it out as one of 24 of the finest chefs in the country, across eight regional heats for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a world-beating four course menu at a prestigious event at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich. British Olympic legend Sir Steve Redgrave will host the gala event with a glittering guest list of British sporting greats.
Three chefs from each region and nations will compete against each other preparing a four course meal fit for an Olympian to secure a place in the national finals. The eight regional winners will then battle it out to prepare one of the four courses of The Olympic Feast.
Don’t miss the chance to see him compete on BBC Two on Monday April 9 from 7:30pm
