Glasgow’s West brewery, bar & restaurant has launched a new light lager aimed at those conscious of their alcohol intake.
Helles Light is based on the popular Helles lager, but with the alcohol volume reduced from 4.9% to 3.8%.
Brewery owner Petra Wetzel said: “Helles is our signature Munich-style lager beer, comprising carefully selected imported ingredients to create a crisp and clean beer with satisfying malt sweetness, complemented by delicate hop bitterness.”
Based at the Templeton Building at Glasgow Green, West is the only UK brewery that complies with the Reinheitsgebot - German legislation to ensure only the finest beers are produced.
Patrons can even look down into the brewhouse from the beer hall to witness the brewers at work.
West brewery, bar & restaurant is open seven days a week, 11am – 11pm Sunday to Thursday and 11am to midnight Friday and Saturday.
