Top hotel turns itself over to amateur cooks
A multi award-winning Hebridean hotel is throwing open its doors to teach amateur cooks some of the ingredients of its success.
The Coll Hotel voted Scottish Islands Hotel of the Year two years in a row in 2008 and 2009, is offering itself as an exclusive
use venue for cookery classes between November and next March (excluding the Christmas and New Year holidays).
The hotel has only six bedrooms so can accommodate a maximum of 12 guests at one time.
'It's the perfect setting for a dozen friends who want to get away from it all while learning new cooking skills in a stunning, relaxing location,' said co-owner Julie Oliphant who also won Gold Medals for Real Food and Hospitality in the 2010 Scottish Hotel of the Year Awards. 'It will be suitable for people with all levels of skills, from beginners to budding chefs.'
The £70 per person per night package includes a 4 x 4 tour of the island, famous for its bird and sea life, and a dinner party when guests will enjoy the dishes they have seen demonstrated and helped make.
