  GORDON’S RESTAURANT IN INVERKEILOR NAMED AA RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR FOR SCOTLAND 2011 Gordon’s Restaurant in Inverkeilor received nationwide recognition last night when it was named AA Restaurant of the Year for Scotland at the AA Hospitality Awards 2011 – 2012, hosted by Sophie Raworth, at the London Hilton on Park Lane. Gordon Watson, Proprietor, Gordon’s Restaurant who received the award in front of an audience of over 700 members of the hospitality industry, commented, “We are overwhelmed that our hard work and dedication has been recognised by winning this special award. This recognises restaurants that provide cuisine of truly excellent standard as well as demonstrating innovation and ambience and providing a high standard of service and hospitality. This could not have come at a better time when we are celebrating our 25 years in our business and, of course, we want to thank all our customers and suppliers who have supported us throughout these years. Scotland can truly become a culinary destination.” The two Rosette-awarded restaurant is a true family run-business founded 25 years ago by husband and wife, Gordon and Maria Watson who have now been joined by their son Garry. This 24 seat restaurant is ideal for a relaxed intimate dining experience which complements the personal style of cooking utilising Scottish seasonal produce, cooked simply and imaginatively. Slick artistic presentation and fine ingredients add up to superb tasting beautiful dishes. The passion for good food is as evident today as ever. AA Hotel Services manager, Simon Numphud said, “We selected Gordon’s this year as AA Restaurant of the Year for Scotland because it is a truly charming local restaurant, full of character and warmth that epitomises everything about a family run business. The quality of food and the exquisite level of hospitality make this a commendable winner of this award.” The AA Hospitality Awards bring together some of the most influential people within the hospitality industry to recognise the outstanding accomplishments of high-achieving AA establishments and individuals. The award event also sees the launch of the 2012 AA guides to UK hotels and restaurants, which contain details of all the winning establishments. Guests were treated to a magnificent gourmet meal created by five AA Rosette-awarded chef Pierre Gagnaire in conjunction with the Hilton Park Lane kitchen team, and were entertained by Britain’s Got Talent stars Out of the Blue. Selection is made based on overall excellence and the specific achievements throughout the previous year.
